Letter to My Past Self

Dear Michele,


I love you and behind the smiles and social life I can see you’re struggling.


To know real love. To know yourself and to love yourself.


Your path to love isn’t working.


I’ve spent 15 years figuring out how we find it. So here it goes:

1. VISION

Take time to vision out what finding love, your “partner in crime”, the love of your life, a longterm partner really is to you. See it, feel it, hear it, experience it right now. Then write it down.


2. CLEAR OUT WHAT’S IN THE WAY OF ACTUALIZING THAT VISION

This is deep inner work you’ve been avoiding. It’s most likely your limiting beliefs. What fear is in the way? What self-sabotaging pattern keeps running?


3.RELEASE AND LET GO OF THE PAST

Forgive. Forgive your exes, parents, the boy in middle school who teased you and most importantly forgive yourself. Replace limiting beliefs with positive ones.


4. EDUCATE YOURSELF

Fortify yourself with new knowledge and supportive tools about love and relationship like spotting red flags, identifying your values and intercepting you self-sabotaging patterns.


5. TAKE ACTION

This is where the rubber meets to road. Having a vision, doing inner work and learning new things isn’t enough. Get out of your comfort zone and take action. Rewrite your okCupid profile, go out to events without relying on the social lubricant of alcohol, create a dating plan for yourself and follow it.


6. GET SUPPORT & GUIDANCE

⁣Invest in yourself. Read inspiring books. Hire a coach to help you heal your heart and shift your thinking. Start therapy. Take programs/courses with other people who want the same change you are seeking.
